Sheila

Peón

Sheila Peón Sheila was born and lived, until she was 26 years old, in Gijon, a coastal city in Asturias in Northern Spain. The daughter of a master confectioner and an architectural draftswoman, she studied business administration without knowing that what she was really passionate about was art and not numbers.

Since she was 14 years old, she has been working as a model in parallel to her studies. When she finished studying, she started to work in what she studied, but one day she woke up and realized that she was thirsty for globetrotting, to know every possible corner of the planet, to see color, to taste different flavors, to meet different cultures and people. And she began to work as a full-time model living for seasons in different cities in different countries.

She started in India, continued in the Philippines, and so she traveled through a large part of Asia. She also, of course, lived in France and England among other European countries, South Africa, Turkey and Arab countries. But where he stayed the longest and where she always returned to was Mexico. It is orth mentioning, though, that she lived in Indonesia, a country which, like Mexico, was instrumental to her development.

Between trips she realized that she had something very strong inside with decoration, the disorderly order, with the details of things, and decided to stay in Mexico for a long time to study interior decoration. In this process she discovered that what really caught her attention were the colors. Colors awakened in her a sense, an expression and an order of things.

She began to take painting workshops and to develop her passion. She moved to Bali and there she set up her own studio, selling in various galleries. Almost a year later, due to her modeling work, she had to return to Mexico and there she set up her own studio and participated in exhibitions with other artists and little by little she made a name for herself internationally, selling to Australia, Spain and the USA, among other countries, from Mexico
